The Victor Manuel Gomez Music Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in memory of Victor Gomez, during the National Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020 to support children overall health and lifelong learning through music. We are dedicated to opening minds through music, and we believe that creating and experiencing music of other cultures increases tolerance and cultural empathy in people.
OUR MODEL:
The Victor Manuel Gomez Music Foundation is focused on student-centric music education which is at the heart of what makes our model unique. We take a comprehensive approach to deliver music education at under-resourced elementary schools, ensuring sustainability and long-term success by:
- Providing comprehensive and sequential music education as a core subject
- Configuring and supplying a music classroom
- Recruiting and hiring top-notch music teachers
- Offering a sequential curriculum meeting state and national standards
- Providing support and guidance to principals
- Strengthen parent and school involvement in partner school
- Evaluating our program to maintain the highest quality standards
- Developing band and orchestra ensembles
VISION:
We believe that music education is an essential part of every person’s well-being. The journey of making music builds discipline, character, perseverance, memory capacity, and time management. We also believe students learn in different ways and styles; no one method fits all students. One goal is to maintain trustworthy relationships with students and parents by providing quality personalized instructions in a friendly and comfortable environment.Victor Manuel Gomez pursued his education with the goal of becoming a teacher, our foundation approaches music through the lens of intentional, compassionate pedagogy. We don’t just teach notes; we teach the individual child, fulfilling the classroom legacy Victor was meant to leave behind.
MISSION:
The Victor Manuel Gomez Music Foundation believes that every child with musical potential deserves the opportunity to nurture their talent to its fullest extent. Recognizing that many families face financial barriers to music education, the Foundation provides music classes and instruments to economically disadvantaged preschool and elementary school students. By granting access to the transformative benefits of music, we aim to inspire creativity, foster self-expression, and serve as a catalyst to enhance academic achievement, school motivation, and lifelong self-confidence.
